Members of the Yorktown Police Department were called to investigate a commercial burglary at the Gulf gas station on Crompond Road on March 4 last year. The investigation led to evidence that linked Yonkers resident Omar Abulteen to the alleged crime.

According to police, it is alleged that Abulteen entered the Gulf station on the day of the burglary, caused damage inside and stole multiple items.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Abulteen was at Yorktown Justice Court for a separate matter, when he was placed under arrest and charged with felony burglary. Abulteen appeared in Yorktown Justice Court and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash bail. He’s been turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in Westchester County Court on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
